Good Things: David’s Bridal

In today’s good things blog post I’m talking about a well-known company in the bridal industry! Consider this like a really long review. 😉 So as some of you may know I’m getting married in August 2018. This means I had the awesome time of choosing my own wedding dress! Now I was kind of biased about where I was going to go wedding dress shopping and that was because I had previously worked at the bridal shop so I kind of knew what to expect. The bridal shop I’m talking about is David’s Bridal.

So let me explain why I chose to go dress shopping there. I knew David’s Bridal had stunning dresses (as do most bridal shops) but I also knew they had dresses in a range of sizes as well as budgets. Being that I’m a plus size woman I was nervous to go dress shopping because clothes shopping isn’t always fun trying to find something that will fit and look great. But knowing ahead of time that David’s has sizes 0-26 as well as extra length, and petite sizes, eased my mind a little. They truly have dresses available for every shape and size! I also knew that the prices of the gowns were reasonable as well. They often have gowns deeply discounted to a couple hundred dollars, while also having their sales rack where you can fall in love with the dress and walk out with it as well! David’s also has many designer label dresses such as White by Vera Wang, Oleg Cassini, Truly Zac Posen, Melissa Sweet, Galina Signature, and more, as well as their own David’s Bridal Collection. And while they have designer dresses, they’re not priced with outlandish designer prices and generally cost under $3000.

David’s Bridal also gives you a great experience! If you book your appointment during the week or during quieter hours (ask your local David’s Bridal when this is) then you’ll get a more one-on-one experience with your consultant. Your consultant is able to help you decide what you want and what will look good on you. With their knowledge of their dresses they’ll be super helpful to help you find your dream dress without being overwhelmed. David’s also provides you with undergarments such as a corset and slip to try on so that you get the best fit when trying on dresses. Since David’s Bridal is a one stop shop they’re able to help you find the veil, headpiece, jewellery, and/or shoes that go best with your dress as well. This way you’re able to try it all on and see how it all works beautifully together.

I’m not going to lie, when I had my wedding dress appointment it was a lot of fun! I had the support of my family and maid of honour, and actually found my dress on the first try! I tried on other styles and dresses, but in the end I went back to the first one I tried on. It’s true what they say, when you know, you know and you just don’t want to get out of it!

David’s Bridal also has dresses for your bridesmaids, mother of the bride and groom, flower girl, as well as other special occasion dresses. Again the range of sizes carries over to these dress lines as well which is awesome!

Another reason to love David’s Bridal (as if you need another one!) is that they partner with Moores. This means your groom and groomsmen can colour coordinate perfectly with your bridesmaids dresses.

So if you’re starting to look at wedding dresses (I suggest doing this 12-9 months before your wedding date) I would highly recommend booking an appointment with David’s Bridal and get the same experience that I did!
